I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I've posted anything on this site! Apart from the site redesign, updating some of the static pages, and experimenting with switching hosting providers a few times, I haven't really touched the site. Here's what I've been up to since my last post:

eShares

I've been working at eShares for almost two years now. In that time we have accomplished a lot. We are a Python/Django shop and have grown from ~6 employees to ~45 in that time. (By the way, we're hiring! Contact me if interested...). eShares takes up the majority of my time these days. I'm not complaining though; I love my job!

sas7bdat.py

Last year, this project went through a complete rewrite. It now supports more files and compressed files. It continues to see a lot of real life usage and people are contributing patches and creating issues for it on the bug tracker page. I feel bad that I can't spend more time addressing some of those issues, but c'est la vie!

Miscellaneous scripting

Nothing really new here. I've updated my flexget config files to keep up with syntax changes and wrote some screen scrapers that generate rss files that flexget can work with to get around the shutdown of some sites I used to use. Apart from that, nothing new.

SAAS startup ideas

Jenny and I have been trying to come up with some cool SAAS idea to generate some "passive" income. We have a couple ideas I can't share yet but hopefully something will work and I can report on that later.

Family

Mario is starting second grade next week. Second grade! Milo starts Kindergarten next year. They're growing up so fast! We've been enjoying our adventures here in the Bay Area and love living here.
